Masters are needed for many higher level occupations: therapists, clergy,
educational counselors, vocational counselors, school counselors, substance
abuse and behavioral disorder counselors and instructional coordinators and
psychologists.
The Nationally Certified Schools Psychologist (NCSP) and Amerian Board of
Professional Psychology (ABPP) regulate the psychology field. A Psychology
Specialist receives the (Ed.S) title.
Types of psychology include - clinical, counseling, school, industrial,
organizational, developmental, social, experimental and research.
Employment locations vary: business, nonprofit, government, universities,
hospitals, clinics and private.
There is also a Masters in Library Science (MLS) which could be good for
those interested in the educational field.
